The Basics: Workout and Eat Better. Sounds easy right?
I’ve thought about starting a blog for a very long time, but who really wanted to read about my fairly normal life?! Now that I have a goal I thought it would be the perfect time to start sharing a part of my life with the world. If anyone actually reads it then awesome! If not, then I’m not worried about it. But for me I am going to use it as a tool on my journey to be fit. It will be something to be accountable to, a log of my successes and failures for anyone to read.
The Not-So-Basics: I needed something to work towards for the workout portion of my goal, otherwise my motivation to actually workout severely lacks. So I am training for a triathlon!! Hence the name, Tri-Fit… me trying to be fit by training for a Triathlon. There are a couple of sprint distance triathlons in the area in late August/early September and I plan to race in one or both of those. My goal is to finish, I honestly don’t care about time, I just want to finish. The sprint triathlon includes a half mile swim, a twelve mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run to finish it off. As of right now I haven’t done any swimming in over a year, I haven’t ridden a bike over a couple miles in too many years to count, and I can barely run for a few minutes without feeling like I need to stop.
It’s time to fix that! In this blog you will find my workouts, some healthy recipes, and bits of my life scattered throughout. Enjoy!
